Please find below some information to help you plan for your attendance for our performances in the park.

How To Get There

The easiest way to reach the park is via Croydon’s Tramlink, with frequent services from East Croydon, Wimbledon, New Addington and Beckenham. Wandle Park tram stop is right by the entrance to the park on Vicarage Road.

The park is also served by bus routes 407, 410 and 455, which stop on Waddon Road at the end of Vicarage Road, and also route 157, which stops on Waddon New Road.

On street parking is free after 6pm on the roads south and east of the Park, and is metered before 6pm. Pay and display parking is also available at the Jubilee Bridge Car Park off Lower Church Street.

Please note that the small car park within the vehicle entrance to Wandle Park at the end of Westfield Road will not be open, at the request of the Council.

There are no steps between the tram stop and the bandstand. The route to the bandstand is over a tarmac path of about 200 metres, with a gravel path immediately around the bandstand.

Tickets & Seating

CODA’s box office and bar tent will be next door to the bandstand. The box office staff will have a list of all those who have booked, so we will tick your name off the list. No separate ticket will be emailed.

Seating is provided, on plastic chairs or park benches right around the bandstand. The plastic chairs can easily be moved for any wheelchairs. The play will be performed in the round. Seating is unallocated, so please choose a place for you and your party to sit at when you arrive.

The audience area is completely uncovered, so please dress appropriately for what the British summer is forecast to bring for your performance.

For evening performances, we recommend bringing a fleece or rug, as even in summer it can get chillier after sunset.

For the Saturday matinee performance, please bring a hat and suncream to protect yourself.

The performance will not be cancelled except in the event of severe weather. In case of light or moderate rain, the performance will continue, so if rain is forecast, please bring a waterproof layer. Please do not use umbrellas if you are not sitting in the back row, as this will restrict the view of audience members seated behind you.

Food & Drink

CODA will be running a bar with alcoholic and soft drinks available. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic, and CODA is offering a hamper option when you book tickets. The “house” will open from around 30 minutes before each performance. The Wandle Park Café currently does not have an operator, so is not currently open to sell refreshments.

Toilet facilities will be available for audience members at the café before the performance and during the interval. The café toilets include one accessible toilet, but we are also hiring one additional accessible toilet which will be near the bar.

COVID-19

Unfortunately Covid is very much still with us. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that our audiences, cast and crew feel safe and confident when they attend our shows.

Alice Through Wonderland will be performed outside, which will help to disperse any Covid viruses. However, there are certain measures which we all can take to help keep each other safer.

  • If you or one of your party develop Covid symptoms or test positive, please do not come to the performance. Please contact tickets@codashows.co.uk to arrange a refund or defer to a later performance.
  • We recommend that you please wear face coverings in areas of the park that are likely to be more crowded (such as around the bar and box office area, or while waiting or using the toilets). Our stewarding team will be wearing them in these areas too.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available. Please use this as necessary.
  • Contactless payment options will be available at the bar and box office.

We trust that the information above will help you to enjoy your visit to the park. Please let us know at tickets@codashows.co.uk if you have any further queries on access or the production.
