CODA’s bank account might need the kiss of life should the next performances not sell as well as expected, but at the AGM suggestions that member subscriptions or show fees should be increased were quickly dismissed. My view is that times may be tough but subs should be kept as low as possible. However, there are ways that I’d like members to contribute their time and efforts to help us raise funds.
All fund raising suggestions are very welcome (our Social Team have a number of great ideas, but I think that the business community provides the key to our potential security and growth.
The plan is to offer companies a unique choice, not just of the usual party fodder such as discos, bands, magicians etc (which we can also offer at cost plus a few bob) but a smorgasbord of song, dance and comedy provided by CODA members, to be enjoyed between and after courses of rubber chicken and jam roly poly.
Cabaret West End show songs, classic hits, dance numbers and comedy. A slimmed down version of the Compilation Show we have planned for June.
Murder Mystery Parties Comedy dramas for party folk to solve while they eat, drink and make merry. |

Old Time Music Hall A celebration of the good old days of traditional British live entertainment.
Variety acts Close-up magic, stand up, mime, juggling, fire eating … you name it. With so many talented performers amongst our ranks, there’s no limit to the opportunity for CODA members to shine. We’ll draw the line at animals, bondage and Arsenal fans … in other words nothing weird !
Please contact me if you’d like to get involved. And if you know any companies who may wish to book a CODA event, their package deal will also be fully inclusive of a number of other benefits …
• A full colour advertisement in each CODA production programme.
• Reserved seats for each show.
• The opportunity to hand out marketing material and have demountable displays at our shows (subject to approval).
Good news … Our first booking has ben confirmed for 13th June (see centre pages). I want to record our performances on film and camera for brochures and web marketing, and to drag some potential clients along to see CODA at first hand.
We are expecting upwards of 100 people and I aim to raise a minimum of £1,000 for CODA. I am arranging food and drink for the performers, and you can stay and have a boogie after the greasepaint comes off !
