There are many ways to get involved with CODA, whether you want to be on the stage, behind the stage or just helping out at an event, we welcome everyone who would like to be part of the show!Ways you can get involved:​Performers​Singers, Dancers, Actors - get in touch so we can let you know about upcoming shows/auditions!​​Production Manager​Responsible for the overall project, including liaison with venue, coordinating the creative team, communication with cast and keeping an eye on publicity, front of house, budget, etc.​Director​The person with the overall creative vision who will direct the cast, choreographer, designers, etc. to bring it to life. In a compilation show they will also usually work with the Musical Director and Choreographer to select the pieces that will be performed.​Musical Director​Responsible for making sure the music and singing sounds amazing! In a compilation show they can work with the Director and Choreographer to select the pieces that will be performed.​Choreographer​Creator and teacher of the dance. In a compilation show they can work with the Director and Musical Director to select the pieces that will be performed. A compilation show also has the advantage that one person doesn’t necessarily have to choreograph the whole thing, so if you have always fancied dipping a toe in the water by choreographing a number or two, this is a fantastic opportunity.​Stage Manager​Essentially, once the rehearsal period is over, the show is passed to the Stage Manager and they will be in charge of making sure it runs smoothly every night. This might mean making sure that stage crew, cast, technicians, etc. are in the right place at the right time to keep everything ticking along smoothly.​Lighting and Sound Designers​Lighting and sound are so important to ensure the overall excellent quality of the shows we all want to be part of. They require some technical knowledge, but there’s no better way of learning than doing. We are fortunate to have experienced people in CODA who are very happy to give guidance and experience to anyone interested in learning the ropes.​Costume Design​We can’t always costume a show straight out of the performers’ wardrobes, so its great to have a few people combing charity shops, filling baskets in Primark or even sitting down at a sewing machine to create a gorgeous gown.​Set Design and Construction​Everybody is welcome for a set build – you might be a master carpenter or a talented painter, or you might be a dab hand with a roller and good at moving stuff about! The more the merrier when it comes to putting together a set!​Publicity​A show doesn’t sell itself! It takes people to design flyers and get them printed, run social media campaigns, arrange places to display posters and get in the leg work of flyering and letterbox drops.​Front of House​At every show we need a small team of people to take tickets, sell programmes, run the bar, etc. and a person to manage this and make sure we are ‘fully staffed’

We hold open auditions for each production – if you see a show that takes your fancy, please email secretary@codashows.co.uk to book your audition slot or contact us via the website. Joining out mailing list will keep you up to date with future audition dates.

Membership is £15 per year - this goes towards our running costs

Our regular rehearsal venues are St Paul’s United Reformed Church Croham Park Ave, South Croydon CR2 7HH and St Peter’s Church House, St Peter's Rd, Croydon CR0 1EZ. We primarily perform at Selsdon Hall 132 Addington Rd, South Croydon CR2 8LA although we may use other venues in the Croydon area depending on the show

Amazing! We are always looking for new ideas and particularly directors willing to get stuck in and lead a production. If you have an idea, we want to hear it.  We are also interested in supporting new playwrights.  Get in touch on secretary@codashows.co.uk or vvia the contact us form to share.
