CODA is pleased to announced our Spring 2027 production of the musical By Jeeves - with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and book/lyrics by Alan Ayckbourn.

When Bertie Wooster’s banjo mysteriously breaks during a village hall charity concert, his brilliant valet, Jeeves, steps in to save the day. To entertain the waiting audience, Bertie is forced to improvise by acting out a past adventure. Cue mistaken identities, romantic mishaps and a load of chaos.

The main characters in the show are:

  • Bertram "Bertie" Wooster - a wealthy, well-meaning, but remarkably dim-witted young gentleman. He serves as the show's chaotic storyteller.

  • Jeeves - Bertie's brilliantly intelligent, deadpan, and completely unflappable valet who controls the show.

  • Augustus "Gussie" Fink-Nottle - an absurdly nerdy, socially awkward friend of Bertie and hopelessly in love with Madeline Bassett.

  • Stephanie "Stiffy" Byng - a feisty, fiercely independent, and highly manipulative young woman desperate to marry her sweetheart.

  • Harold "Stinker" Pinker - a clumsy, earnest, and deeply well-intentioned local clergyman. He is madly in love with Stiffy.

  • Bingo Little - another of Bertie's dim-witted, upper-class friends from London. Known for falling dramatically in love at a moment's notice - and this time with Honoria Glossop.

  • Sir Watkyn Bassett  - a stern, easily angered, and pompous local magistrate.

  • Madeline Bassett - Sir Watkyn's overly sentimental, intensely mushy, and romantic daughter.

  • Honoria Glossop - Bertie's domineering, forceful, and terrifying former fiancée.

  • Cyrus Budge III (Junior) - a wealthy, intimidating, and brash American visitor who acts as a sudden romantic rival

Auditions will take place from 7:30pm on Tuesday 1st December at St Paul's United Reform Church on Croham Park Road.
